What a shame to see such a once beautiful place go to trash Tried to go for a nice outing with family & friends however ran into piles of trash i saw 5 or 6 bags next to the can looked like someone pulled the bags however just left them all over as well as huge piles of sticks. Also people disposed of their charcoal improperly causing a visitor to burn themselves. Battle Creek needs to do better & take care of their natural scenery & the city they claim to love so much. Used to visit here often in my youth & have seen the decline of this park go through the years it’s really sad how the city doesn’t clean up their parks.

Beautiful park with an area for kids to play and run, as well as a disc golf course. Members of the community come together regularly to keep the park clean and pleasant to play in.

Beautiful park. Great place to take a walk. All the baby ducks are out in the spring at this park. There is a hiking trail up the steps where I found some beautiful wild flowers. They have a Pavillion that faces the lake where you can sit and contemplate. It's a small sized park.

Irving park is centrally located in battle creek. Easy place to meet people in the middle. Features a 27 hole disc golf course, a playground with reasonable variety, and a couple ponds with many, many geese. More details below. The playground is passable. Has 2 areas to accommodate different ages, abilities, sizes. And an old school digger that is great. Disc golf is fairly well kept and has easy and challenging holes. Usually not crowded but you have to watch out for leagues and tourneys here and there. The ponds are kind of scummy but still pleasant to walk around. Good paths will take you all over the park. The ponds are famous (locally) for geese and ducks. They're fun to watch, but they don't mess around. Not unusual to have 50 plus surround you. Finally a note about the neighborhood. Warning, this is just my personal observations. I think it has a bad reputation but 90% of the time I see friendly people that are just trying to enjoy the outdoors and family time. That said, I wouldn't hang around near dark if possible, and there are times when there are jerks coming and going. I'd also note this seems to have improved since the disc golf went in. There are more people around in general and less riff raff. It's a go to park to play disc golf or play with the kids but I do keep my eyes open to my surroundings here.

Has a decent amount of walking and it's usually nice and quiet, but could use some cleaning. They also have a couple of playgrounds and they have discgolf baskets, which is a nice bonus. It's also a pretty decent spot for birding.
